Shipping & Delivery

Know exactly when your part will arrive and what it will cost before you confirm your order.


What Your Quote Includes

Your Specter Parts quote covers the part price, applicable import duties (for US-sourced parts), customs brokerage, and applicable taxes. These are fixed at quote time so there are no surprise charges at the door from Canada Border Services.

Carrier shipping is calculated separately at checkout once you confirm your delivery address and we confirm the supplier. The exact shipping cost is shown on your checkout screen before you authorize any payment — you will never be charged for shipping without seeing the amount first.

Delivery Timelines

Canadian-Sourced Parts — 1 to 5 Business Days

Parts sourced from suppliers within Canada ship via tracked domestic courier (Canada Post Xpresspost, FedEx, or UPS). Most Alberta-destined orders arrive within 2–3 business days.

US-Sourced Parts — 5 to 10 Business Days

Parts sourced from US suppliers cross into Canada through our customs brokerage process. Border clearance typically adds 1–2 business days to the carrier transit time. Duties and brokerage are pre-paid by Specter Parts and included in your quote.

Expedited Options

If you need a part urgently, note it in your quote request. We'll identify suppliers who can ship overnight or next-day and quote the expedited option alongside the standard timeline.

Cross-Border Shipments & Customs

Many automotive parts are manufactured in or stocked by US suppliers. When we source from the US, your order crosses the Canada–US border as a formal commercial import. Here's what that means for you:

  • Duties pre-calculated: We determine applicable CBSA import duties at quote time and include them in your price.
  • Brokerage handled by us: We arrange and pay customs brokerage on your behalf. You will not receive a collect-on-delivery charge from the carrier.
  • No action required: Your part clears customs without any input from you. The first you hear about it is the delivery notification.

USMCA (formerly NAFTA) preferential rates apply to qualifying parts originating in the US or Mexico, which reduces or eliminates the duty for most common automotive components.

Tracking Your Order

Once your supplier ships your part, you'll receive an email with the carrier name and tracking number. You can track your order at any time through the carrier's website or by logging into your Specter Parts account and visiting Order History.

For US-sourced parts, tracking updates may pause for 24–48 hours while the shipment is in customs clearance — this is normal and does not indicate a problem with your order.

Delivery Areas

We ship to all Canadian provinces and territories. Remote and rural addresses (including areas served by Canada Post's Remote Communities service) may have extended delivery timelines. If your address falls in a remote zone, we'll flag this when we prepare your quote.

We do not ship outside of Canada at this time.

Is shipping included in my quote?

Partially. Your quote includes the part price, import duties (for US-sourced parts), customs brokerage, and applicable taxes — all fixed at quote time. Carrier shipping is calculated at checkout once you confirm your delivery address and we confirm the supplier. The shipping amount is displayed on the checkout screen before you authorize payment.

How do I know if my part is Canadian or US-sourced?

Your quote email will clearly indicate the source and expected delivery window for each part. Canadian-sourced parts show a domestic timeline (1–5 days); US-sourced parts show a cross-border timeline (5–10 days).

Can I pick up my order?

Not currently. Specter Parts is a delivery-only service. All orders are shipped directly from the supplier to your door.

What happens if my part is damaged in transit?

Contact us within 7 days of delivery at info@specterparts.ca with your order number and photos of the damage. We will file a claim with the carrier and arrange a replacement or refund.

Will I be charged import duties at the door?

No. We pre-pay all duties and brokerage for US-sourced parts as part of your quote. If a carrier attempts to collect additional charges at delivery, contact us immediately — this should not happen.
